Morata Army Sun: Amorim Hopes to Bring in Old Teammate Diomande for £70 Million Release Clause

Diomande, currently 20 years old, is a central defender and an Ivory Coast international. He is considered one of the most promising center-backs in Europe. Diomande still has three years left on his contract with Sporting Lisbon, and the club has stated that only the activation of the £70 million release clause can secure the player’s transfer.

Amorin is very familiar with and appreciates Diomande. Despite Manchester United spending nearly £100 million this summer on center-backs Jara and de Ligt, Amorin does not fully trust the current defensive lineup. Moreover, after switching to a back three, the defense requires more central defender options.
