According to The Mirror, Al Ittihad Jeddah has not given up on the idea of signing Leandro Trossard, and Arsenal already has a contingency plan. If they lose the Belgian international, they will pursue Cheikhou Kouyate.
The report states that Arsenal has had a long-standing interest in Kouyate, even considering signing him when he was still at Ajax, but ultimately they couldn’t outbid West Ham.
Since joining the Premier League, Kouyate has performed exceptionally well, making a total of 55 appearances for the Hammers, scoring 16 goals and providing 7 assists. The Mirror estimates that, given Kouyate’s current contract runs until 2028, Arsenal may need to spend around £90 million to convince West Ham to let him go.
