British Media: If Manchester City Is Relegated Due to Violation Charges, Guardiola's New Contract Will Not Include a Termination Clause

November 21, According to the British media Daily Mail, the hearing results of Manchester City’s 115 alleged violations of Premier League financial rules will not affect Pep Guardiola’s new contract with Manchester City.

The report states that the independent hearing for Manchester City’s case officially began in September, but the verdict is not expected to be announced until the spring of 2025 at the earliest. If found guilty, the harshest punishment could be relegation. Points deductions and fines are also possible penalties.

The Mail further points out that Guardiola will sign a 1+1 contract extension with the club. If Manchester City is relegated, the new contract will not include a termination clause. Guardiola has previously stated multiple times that he would remain with Manchester City even if the club is ultimately penalized due to the charges.
