British Media: Amorim Takes Discipline Seriously, Once "Exiled" a Player for It

November 21, In the Ten Hag era, disciplinary issues have been rampant within Manchester United. According to The Sun, new Manchester United manager Amorim takes such issues very seriously.

When Amorim began his tenure as the head coach of Braga B in 2019, there was a very talented player named Géssica Makuata on the team. This Congolese player had performed exceptionally well at Boavista and Alanya Spor. However, in his first match with Braga B, Makuata was notably absent from the field.

The reason was that during the first training session under Amorim, Makuata believed his abilities were beyond those of the B team, and he hoped to join the first team. As a result, his attitude during training was lackadaisical, and he did not fully demonstrate his capabilities. The Braga chairman revealed, “Players who cannot give 100% to the team will not make it into Amorim’s lineup. He cares more about attitude than form.”

In the end, Makuata was “exiled,” losing his position and being loaned out to a club in Bulgaria, where he faded into obscurity. Meanwhile, Amorim won 7 out of his first 8 matches and quickly became the first-team coach.
