De Minaur had just lifted the trophy at last week’s ATP’s s-Hertogenbosch event, rising to a career-high No. 7 in the world rankings. In this match, the in-form De Minaur cruised through the first set, breaking Sinner’s serve in all games to take it 6-1. However, the tide turned in the second set as Sinner saved two break points to hold serve and then broke De Minaur’s serve, leveling the score at 6-4. The decisive third set saw no doubts from the start, as Sinner, riding the momentum from the second set, raced to a 4-0 lead. Ultimately, Sinner secured a strong comeback victory over De Minaur, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2, ending his 13-match losing streak against top-10 players and registering his first win on grass against a top-10 opponent. Sinner will face Brandon Nakashima in the next round.
