Ten Hag, serving as a pundit for the Serbia vs England match on Dutch television, revealed during the pre-match analysis that Manchester United did indeed approach Tuchel, but ultimately decided to stick with him.
“The Manchester United management informed me that they had spoken to Tuchel, but in the end, they concluded that they already had the best person for the job,” Ten Hag said.
“They sent a representative to Ibiza to tell me that I would remain in my position. So, you could say they disrupted my holiday, ha-ha.”
