At midnight on August 29, the Paris Paralympics kicked off on the Champs-Élysées, with five torchbearers lighting the main cauldron in the Tuileries Garden.
The Chinese sports delegation made its debut at the Paralympic opening ceremony, led by flag bearers Gu Haiyan, a women’s wheelchair fencer, and Qi Yongkai, a men’s weightlifter. The Chinese delegation, comprising 284 athletes and 232 coaches, staff, and competition support personnel, will pursue their dreams in 19 major events and 302 sub-events, hoping to continue their glorious achievements!
