The topic of who will succeed Gareth Southgate as the England national team manager has been a hot topic since his resignation. Former England international Jack Wilshere has shared his thoughts, suggesting that Eddie Howe would be the perfect candidate for the next England manager.
In an interview with talkSPORT, Wilshere said: “Howe’s tactics are excellent; when I first arrived at Bournemouth, the first thing I noticed was the variation in intensity of training every day. Everyone talks about scientific training, but Eddie Howe’s approach is unique – he has a great method that ensures every player performs at their best every single day.”
“Eddie Howe is already an outstanding coach and doesn’t need to prove himself any further. Another crucial point is the trust of the players. Since becoming a coach, I’ve understood that if you want to get the best out of your players, you need to find ways to motivate them, and this must be built on absolute trust. Howe achieves this – he’s one of the most challenging coaches I’ve ever worked with.”
Wilshere played under Eddie Howe during the 2016-17 season when he joined Bournemouth.
