On July 2, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC officially announced the loan signing of Norwegian international Håkon Evjen Raalsen from Celta Vigo.
The statement reads:
Wolves are delighted to confirm the loan signing of Norwegian international striker Håkon Evjen Raalsen from Celta Vigo, with a permanent transfer set to be triggered should certain conditions be met, committing the player to a contract until 2029.
At 24 years old and standing at 193cm tall, Raalsen made his senior debut for Norwegian side Sarpsborg in May 2017, followed by a loan spell at AC Milan for a season. In the summer of 2020, he joined Dutch outfit Groningen, where he spent two seasons and was named Player of the Season for 21/22. In the summer of 2022, he moved to La Liga side Celta Vigo, scoring 13 goals last season to become the club’s top scorer.
Internationally, Raalsen has been a regular for Norway’s youth teams and made his senior national team debut in November 2020. To date, he has earned 14 caps for Norway, contributing three goals and three assists.
Sports Director Hobbs said: “It’s no secret that bringing in a number nine was crucial for us this summer, and Raalsen was our top target in that position, so we’re thrilled to have him on board. He’s a fantastic person, very charismatic, and has a great character. Although still young and learning, he has already shown he can score goals and contribute to the team. Humility is something we often talk about at Wolves, and he embodies that perfectly. Raalsen’s career is on an upward trajectory, and we aim to continue helping him develop and reach the level we believe he can achieve.”
