According to The Mirror on June 11th (Beijing Time), the English Football Association (FA) has no plans to initiate a search for a new manager before the end of this year’s European Championship. This decision ensures that the England team can concentrate fully on their Euro campaign.
Gareth Southgate’s contract with the England team expires at the end of December. However, it is expected that the decision on whether Southgate will continue in his role will be made after the tournament. He has no shortage of admirers, with Premier League giants Manchester United reportedly considering him as a potential candidate following an underwhelming season.
Southgate has been in charge of the England national team for eight years. He has previously avoided discussing his future, stating that his focus is on leading the team and hoping for an improvement on their runners-up finish three years ago.
In this Euro competition, England is drawn in Group C alongside Denmark, Slovenia, and Serbia.
