According to the German media Bild, Mats Hummels, along with two former German national team teammates, Christoph Kramer and Robin Gosens, have launched a wine brand. The wine is priced at €29 per bottle.
The three investors are collaborating with renowned winemakers Philipp Kuhn and HO Spanier. Their first wine release is a dry Riesling cuvée. Price: €29 per bottle. This is not a cheap wine. Former national player Robin Gosens, who currently plays for Fiorentina, said, “From the beginning, we were clear that if we did this, it would absolutely be top-quality wine!”
The first batch of Riesling is produced in limited quantities, numbering in the thousands. However, there are plans to introduce multiple grape varieties and price categories in the future. It is said that the trio initially invested a five-figure sum in this wine venture. With experienced grape growers in place, the infrastructure was already established, so no additional investment was needed at the start, but there is potential for expansion in the future.
Speaking about their wine business, Hummels said, “The three of us often go out to eat together and enjoy drinking wine. Over time, we became good friends. We just wanted to do something different together. If we can help people have a great evening while enjoying our wine, that feels really good!”
