November 21, Roma Sport reported that Mats Hummels, who has been unhappy at Roma, has suffered another setback and is expected to miss the first match under new head coach Claudio Ranieri due to “poor form.”
It is understood that while new head coach Claudio Ranieri is not as reluctant to use Hummels as his predecessor Nenad Jurić, the player himself is in poor form due to various factors, both mentally and physically.
The first match after the international break will see Roma play away against Napoli, and Ranieri will be unable to field Hummels for this game. It remains to be seen whether Paulo Dybala and Dovbyk will be available for selection.
