According to Beijing Youth reporter Xiao Nan on November 16, China time, after a decision by the national team coaching staff, defender Wang Zhen’ao from Shanghai Port has been added to the squad. With Xie Wenhui’s return from suspension, there are currently no plans to add more strikers.

It is reported that on the evening of November 15, the Chinese team conducted their first training session at the auxiliary field of the Egret Stadium in Xiamen upon their return. After the training, head coach Ivan Kovac confirmed to the media that left-back Li Lei, who was injured during the away match against Bahrain the previous night, will miss the China-Japan match on the 19th. The national team coaching staff decided to add Wang Zhen’ao, a full-back from Shanghai Port, to the squad.

Forward Bai Helamu, who received a yellow card during the away match against Bahrain, will be suspended for the China-Japan match on the 19th due to accumulating two yellow cards. However, with Xie Wenhui returning from suspension and other attackers such as Lin Liangming, Wei Shihao, Cao Yongjing, Wang Ziming, and Tao Qianglong already part of this training camp, the coaching staff has no immediate plans to add more strikers.

On the evening of November 19 at 8:00 PM China time, the Chinese men’s national team will face Japan at the Egret Stadium in Xiamen. In the first round, the national team lost 0-7 to Japan away.
