According to renowned journalist Schira, Bayer Leverkusen is planning to extend the contract of their prodigy Florian Wirtz until 2029.
Wirtz moved from the youth academy of FC Cologne to the youth academy of Bayer Leverkusen in January 2020 and was promoted to the first team the same year. To date, he has made 162 appearances for the club, scoring 47 goals and providing 51 assists, helping the team win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal titles last season.
According to multiple media reports, Wirtz is currently being targeted by several European giants, including Real Madrid and Manchester City, and his current contract with Bayer Leverkusen is set to expire in 2027.
