According to German Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, former Liverpool and Dortmund manager Jürgen Klopp is set to take on the role of “Global Head of Soccer” at Red Bull Group. The two parties have signed a long-term contract, with Klopp officially starting his new position in January next year.
Starting from January next year, Klopp will assume a role similar to that of a director or advisor, providing guidance to all Red Bull teams (including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, etc.) on various aspects such as coaching issues, football philosophy, youth player development, and transfer policies. He is also a strong candidate recommended by Red Bull Group executive Oliver Mintzlaff.
The report also highlights that although Klopp’s contract with Red Bull Group is a long-term one, both parties have agreed on a special “exit clause.” If Klopp is offered the opportunity to coach the German national team in the future, he will be able to leave his position at any time.
