On October 22, according to a report by renowned German Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich had hoped to hire RB Leipzig executive Oliver Minczlaff as the club’s CEO, but he politely declined.
The report indicates that Bayern had already been in contact with Minczlaff, a former Red Bull Group executive and current chairman of RB Leipzig’s supervisory board, hoping to invite him to succeed Karl-Heinz Dreesen as the club’s CEO. However, Minczlaff declined the offer.
In light of this, the future of current Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Dreesen remains uncertain. The club will not make a decision on his position until at least the supervisory board meeting on November 11.
Due to a lack of suitable replacements from outside, there is a high probability that Dreesen will continue to stay at Bayern and potentially renew his contract, unless he chooses to leave his current position. Meanwhile, Bayern is also exploring other potential candidates in the market.
