German Media: Bayern Munich Unlikely to Offer New Contract to Müller, Believes He May Retire

According to Sky Sports Germany, Bayern Munich is unlikely to offer a new contract to veteran Thomas Müller before the end of this season, as the club believes Müller may retire.

The report states that Müller’s current contract with Bayern will expire at the end of this season, and the club does not consider extending his contract a priority. In fact, there are even views within the club that Müller might choose to hang up his boots at the end of the season.

There were earlier reports suggesting that Bayern would offer new contracts to both Manuel Neuer and Müller, but recent signs indicate that only Neuer will receive a new contract from Bayern.

Since his promotion to Bayern’s first team in 2009, Müller has made 715 appearances for the club, scoring 245 goals and providing 271 assists. He has helped Bayern win two Champions League titles, two Club World Cup titles, 12 Bundesliga titles, and six German Cup titles.
