On November 16, according to German media Sport Bild, Dortmund’s chief scout, Jörg Graff, has been suspended and has already parted ways with the team.
Graff has been working at Dortmund since 2013 and became the head of scouting in the fall of 2022, succeeding Pila, who moved to Bayern Munich that year.
Graff was involved in many player signings, and his contract with Dortmund was set to expire at the end of this season. However, the club’s management was not satisfied with his performance, leading to an early termination of the contract. This means that the technical director, Michael Zorc, will have more influence over the scouting department.
However, Sport Bild also revealed that Dortmund does not plan to make any winter transfers. The team has already spent a significant amount of money during the summer and hopes to provide more opportunities for young players.
