On June 22, the Italian men’s basketball team revealed its 12-player roster for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, with Gallinari on board and Fotu Quattro missing out. The list is as follows:
Gallinari, Mannion, Nicola Melli, Marco Spissu, Awudu Abass, Stefano Tonut, Gianpaolo Ricci, Giordano Bottorini, Davide Cassarin, Alessandro Pajola, Giovanni Caruso, Achille Polonara, Alessandro Petruccelli, John Petruccelli
Cassarin was ultimately left out, finalizing the 12-man squad.
The 2024 Paris Olympics Basketball Qualifying Tournament will commence on July 3 and 4. Twenty-four teams have been drawn into four different zones, with one spot available in each zone. Italy, Lithuania, and Puerto Rico are in the San Juan, Puerto Rico zone. In this zone, Group A consists of Mexico, Côte d’Ivoire, and Lithuania, while Group B comprises Italy, Puerto Rico, and Bahrain. These six teams will battle for one Olympic berth.
