On June 24, according to French media outlet L’Equipe, more than one Saudi Arabian consortium is reportedly interested in purchasing Monaco Football Club.
It is understood that Monaco’s owner, Sergey Rybolovlev, has become increasingly open to selling the club, leading to multiple offers in recent months.
Currently, there are seven potential buyers vying for control of Monaco, including a Saudi Arabian group. The intriguing development is that the Saudis wish to appoint current Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) director Leonardo Campos as the new chairman of the club.
Campos, who served as Monaco’s director from 2013 to 2016, has a contract with PSG set to expire in 2025. Although PSG is keen on extending his stay, sources say Campos is eyeing a higher position within the organization. When approached by L’Equipe for comment, he declined to provide any response.
