June 23rd – According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich is not likely to renew Joshua Kimmich’s contract and the club is open to selling him this summer.
It is understood that Kimmich himself is currently not considering leaving Bayern, aware that he is in a comfortable position. With his contract expiring with the Bavarians next summer, he could look for a transfer then, potentially on a free transfer, which would also entail a substantial signing-on fee.
However, as reported by Sky Sports, Bayern’s management wishes to offload Kimmich this summer. In their efforts to reduce wage expenses, his salary is a topic of discussion internally, given that he is one of the club’s highest earners.
Kimmich’s contract with Bayern runs until June next year. This season, he has made 43 appearances for the team, scoring 2 goals and providing 9 assists.
