La Gazzetta dello Sport has confirmed that Inter Milan will not be coming to China this summer.
According to the report, former Inter chairman Zhang Kangyang had hoped that the team would visit China this summer, with Chengdu as the destination. However, due to Suning Group’s failure to repay debts and the change of ownership of the club, the planned tour in July could not proceed as scheduled.
Additionally, Inter also took into account the heavy schedule for next season, and the team needs to undergo training before the season starts. Out of consideration for the preparation plan, the China tour was abandoned.
Apart from the club’s change of ownership, the Spanish media outlet Relevo also previously revealed that the organizer’s inability to pay due to insolvency was also a reason why the club’s China tour was hit. In addition to Inter, the China tours of Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also canceled.
