On June 20th, in the second round of Group A matches at the European Championship, Germany comfortably defeated Hungary 2-0, securing their spot in the Round of 16 with two consecutive victories. Toni Kroos was thrilled with Germany’s triumph and believes the team has overcome its challenges.
Kroos expressed his satisfaction with the team’s overall performance: “I’m glad to still see the German team ignite the nation with passion. I can sense a strong team spirit, and I hope we can progress further in the tournament.”
Although Germany’s first two group matches appeared effortless, Kroos acknowledged the difficulties they faced: “Winning our first two group games wasn’t easy; you could see that this match against Hungary was more challenging than our previous encounter with Scotland. Nevertheless, we overcame these obstacles and emerged victorious with confidence.”
After a prolonged downturn in major tournaments, Kroos believes Germany is on the rise again: “I think we’ve come through the toughest times, and these experiences have been invaluable for the team.”
