On June 19, Melbourne Victory announced that their two defenders, Da Silva and Chapman, would leave the club upon the conclusion of their contracts this summer.
Official Statement:
The 36-year-old Da Silva, who was named the club’s Player of the Season twice consecutively, will depart Australia following the end of his contract.
The French player joined the club in February 2023 and made 42 appearances, scoring five goals, including a memorable stoppage-time brace against Western United in the 2023/2024 A-League Men’s season.
Chapman will move to an overseas club with undisclosed financial terms. The defender featured 40 times across his two seasons with Victory.
The club expresses its gratitude to Da Silva and Chapman for their contributions and wishes them all the best for their future endeavors.
