On June 16, according to Spanish sports daily Mundo Deportivo, La Liga club Valencia and manager Rubén Baraja are finalizing a contract extension until the year 2026. After over three weeks of negotiations, the new deal will include an increase in the coach’s salary and grant him more influence in player selection.
It is reported that both parties’ intentions are fully aligned, especially Rubén Baraja’s, who is said to be very content at Valencia. The agreement for the contract renewal was reached between Baraja and Valencia last Friday.
The Spanish coach saved the team on the last matchday of the previous season and, after taking over during a very challenging period for the club, guided Valencia to a ninth-place finish in La Liga this campaign.
