On June 18, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed on his personal social media that Napoli intends to retain Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for at least one more campaign, and as compensation, the club will present him with a salary-increasing contract extension.
Recently, Kvaratskhelia’s agent and father have publicly called for Napoli to allow the Georgian winger to leave this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain, who recently lost Kylian Mbappé, being the most likely destination. PSG has shown great commitment by making a bid exceeding 100 million euros, but it has been firmly rejected by Aurelio De Laurentiis, leading to frustration within the player’s camp.
Romano states that De Laurentiis aims to extend Kvaratskhelia’s current contract, which runs until 2027, with an increased salary, with the objective of keeping the winger in Naples for at least another season. Kvaratskhelia is currently playing for the Georgian national team in the European Championship, and negotiations with his team will resume after the tournament concludes.
Last season, Kvaratskhelia featured for Napoli in 45 matches across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 9 assists.
