Following Spain’s 3-0 victory over Croatia in their Euro group match, former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew praised the young Spanish player in a talk show appearance.
“When Spain were already 2-0 up, I was thinking, how is Yarmolenko still running so hard? But maybe that’s just how he likes to play.”
“The team gave him plenty of playing time, and he had a fantastic left-footed shot (which was brilliantly saved by Livaković).”
“In his season at Barcelona, he performed well. He’s very comfortable with his left foot, which impresses me. He delivered excellent passes and assists with it. He’s so composed. Although I think he still has room for improvement, he already created two goals in this match.”
“It’s clear that Yarmolenko has lightning pace. I haven’t seen a player with these attributes in a long time – he’s thrilling. If you give him too much space in a game, you’re in trouble.”
