On June 17, in a UEFA Euro group match, England narrowly defeated Serbia 1-0. After the game, Serbia’s manager Stojković explained that Tadić was brought on as a substitute for tactical reasons, aiming to keep him fresh for the second half’s 45 minutes.
Reflecting on the match, Stojković said, “It was a fantastic game, both teams played well. Our adjustments achieved our aim, forcing England into defense. I’m proud of my team; we didn’t deserve to lose, but we’ll move forward.”
Stojković also stated frankly, “Of course, I’m not satisfied with the result, but that’s how it is. We have enough time to rest and recover. We’ll give our all against Slovenia; we must win that game. Apart from the result, there’s nothing disappointing. I don’t like losing, but it’s part of the job.”
Regarding Kostić’s injury, the manager commented, “We’ll see tomorrow; he’ll undergo a check. He’s feeling pain on the outside of his knee, possibly a ligament issue.”
