The official SC Sagamihara club has announced that their manager, Tadaaki Hattanda, has been dismissed from his position.
The 47-year-old Hattanda had a playing career abroad, featuring for clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and represented the Japanese national team in the 2002 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by South Korea and Japan. After retiring, he worked as a commentator for a considerable time and took on his first managerial role with SC Sagamihara in February last year. He has overseen a total of 59 matches, with a record of 17 wins, 21 draws, and 21 losses.
This season, SC Sagamihara has performed decently, currently sitting in ninth place in the J3 League table. While the club has not disclosed the specific reason for the sacking, it is speculated that Hattanda might have received an offer from a higher-tier club, prompting his departure.
