Following Serbia’s opening match defeat to England at the Euros, their captain, Dusan Tadic, made controversial remarks, stating that he was the team’s best player and should have started. However, after facing widespread criticism, Tadic has since reconsidered his stance.
The Serbian Football Association released a statement today: “The team gathered at their base camp in Augsburg for a meeting to discuss the upcoming matches and preparations. Captain Tadic used this opportunity to apologize to Head Coach Stojkovic and his teammates for his impulsive comments made after the game against England. The squad is now concentrating positively on their next fixture.”
Team Fiorentina center-back Milenković also emphasized, “Football is a team sport, and we all work hard for the team; we must respect the coach’s decisions.”
