Since suffering a severe knee injury in 2023, Neymar has been sidelines, and recently he opened up about his future plans in an interview.
Addressing his future at Al-Hilal Riyadh, Neymar mentioned that his contract with the Saudi club runs until 2025, and he intends to see out his player option for one more year before departing, as his former Brazilian club, Santos, is calling him back.
However, Santos unexpectedly suffered relegation this season in the Brazilian top flight. While vacationing in Brazil, Neymar attended a match between Flamengo and Gremio, where he stated, “I’ve always said I want to play for Flamengo, it’s my second favorite team, my favorite will always be Santos. I have the greatest respect for Santos, where I grew as a player, but I also have a deep connection with Flamengo.”
“Playing for Flamengo would be a great joy, but it’s too early to make decisions. I still have a year left on my contract with Al-Hilal, and I’m still in Saudi Arabia. No one knows what the future holds,” he added.
