The Jacksonville Jaguars have officially announced a contract extension with their franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence, securing him for five years at $275 million, with $142 million guaranteed.
Lawrence was selected first overall in the 2021 NFL Draft and led the team to the playoffs in his second season, orchestrating a 27-point comeback victory over the Chargers in the Wild Card round. Despite an injury-marred campaign last season that saw both Lawrence’s stats decline and the Jaguars miss the playoffs, the team still opted to reach a premature agreement on an extension.
This deal ties Lawrence with Joe Burrow as the highest-paid players in NFL history.
