According to Japanese media reports, Japanese football star Takumi Minamino, while participating in a program, talked about his experience playing in the Premier League. He expressed that after playing in the Premier League, his impression of this league has changed.
Minamino said, “Before this, what I saw on TV made me feel that the games here were very impressive and high-end. But after actually participating in the games, I surprisingly found that I could do more than I imagined, perhaps I overthought it.”
However, he particularly pointed out that in terms of physical differences, although he felt he had a certain physical advantage when he was in Japan, once he got to the Premier League, he found the situation to be entirely different. The gap in speed and physical fitness made him realize that he was only at an average level and that he needed to further improve himself to enter the top ranks.
When asked which players from the opposing teams he found to be “impressive,” Minamino answered, “Kyle Walker from Manchester City is really impressive, and Palmer from Chelsea this year also performed quite well.”
Regarding his teammates, he said, “Well… the forward who scored the most goals last season, Joao Pedro, made a huge contribution with nearly 20 goals, including penalties. Without him, our scoring ability would have dropped significantly. He performed excellently in his first year, truly an outstanding player.”
