Catalan media “World Sports” reports: In the final moments before the transfer window closes, RCD Espanyol may lose an important player. After Arsenal reaches a transfer agreement with Southampton for Ramsdale, they will join the pursuit of RCD Espanyol’s goalkeeper Joan Garcia.
The media reports that currently, Ramsdale is undergoing a medical at Southampton, and Arsenal and Southampton have reached an agreement on his transfer. After losing Ramsdale, Arsenal’s next step will almost certainly be to seek Joan Garcia as a replacement. This 23-year-old rising star goalkeeper has had a verbal agreement with the London club for some time now, and what is currently holding up the deal is reaching an agreement on the transfer fee between Arsenal and RCD Espanyol.
According to today’s report by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal’s offer to RCD Espanyol is 20 million euros, plus a variable transfer fee based on certain conditions.
However, due to the imminent closure of the transfer window, RCD Espanyol no longer has time to bring in a replacement, so at this stage, the Catalan team refuses any type of negotiation over the transfer fee. The player’s contract with RCD Espanyol includes a buyout clause, which from August 15th, has become 30 million euros.
The Spanish media believes that the fixed transfer fee Arsenal received for selling Ramsdale is 21.3 million euros, plus more than 7 million in variable amounts, thus, the Gunners have the possibility of acquiring Joan Garcia for 30 million euros. In short, the time before the local market closes on Friday is decisive for this transfer.
