August 17, According to renowned Turkish reporter Ekrem KONUR, Manchester City is seriously considering signing 26-year-old Crystal Palace attacker Ebere Eze, to replace the departed Julian Alvarez this summer.
It is understood that there is a release clause worth approximately 70 million euros in Eze’s contract with Crystal Palace. However, this clause operates more like a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ and is not explicitly written into the contract. If Eze agrees to personal terms, the club will accept an offer of 70 million euros, allowing him to leave.
Pep Guardiola’s team hopes to bring in Eze to fill the gap in their attacking line, and Manchester City is preparing to pay this fee, aiming to complete the transfer before the deadline.
The 26-year-old Eze plays as an attacking midfielder and can adapt to multiple positions on the field. He came through the Millwall youth academy and joined QPR in 2016, before transferring to Crystal Palace in 2020 for a fee of 17.8 million euros. Last season, he made 31 appearances (26 starts), scoring 11 goals and providing 6 assists. Currently, his market value according to Transfermarkt is 55 million euros. This summer, he also participated in the European Championship with his team, reaching the final but did not get much playing time.
