On August 24, Porto officially announced that the player Omorodion has transferred to the team, with both parties signing a contract until 2029.
The announcement is as follows:
Samu Omorodion is Porto’s first signing for the 2024/25 season. The 20-year-old forward has just won the Olympic gold medal with Spain and will transfer from Atlético Madrid to Porto in exchange for 15 million euros, securing 50% of his rights. Porto has signed a five-season contract with the player, valid until 2029, including a buyout clause of 100 million euros and two non-mandatory purchase options, each worth 500 thousand euros, for an additional 15% ownership.
Previously, Omorodion was once close to joining Chelsea, but the transfer fell through due to a failure to agree on personal terms with Chelsea.
