In the fourth round of La Liga, Rafinha scored a hat-trick as Valladolid was thrashed 7-0 by Barcelona away from home. After the game, Valladolid’s coach Paolo Pecorarno gave an interview to the media.
Pecorarno described his team’s performance against Barcelona as “regrettable,” in his view, his team “lacked competitiveness.”
Pecorarno said, “I want to apologize to our fans and this city; they should not have to endure such suffering. Today we played without any competitiveness, which is very regrettable. There are no other words to describe it, nor are there any excuses. We fielded our best players, but we still lacked competitiveness.”
“Barcelona is a team that knows how to deal with deep defensive lines; we made tactical errors. We suffered when playing balls behind our defense. Our plan was to attack more positively, but we acted too late.”
