On August 26 at 2:45 AM, the 2nd round of the 24/25 Serie A season saw Napoli host Bologna at their home ground.
In the 2nd minute of the first half, Politano played a direct pass to initiate a counterattack, Raspadori found himself in a good scoring position and shot towards the far corner from just outside the box, but the ball went wide of the post.
In the 5th minute, Castro delivered a cross, Orsolini headed the ball towards goal, but the referee signaled that he had handled the ball first, and replays showed he was also offside.
In the 12th minute, Ndoye was fouled, earning Bologna a set-piece, Le Tjhi delivered the cross directly out of play.

In the 43rd minute, Politano crossed the ball to the far post, Kvaratskhelia attempted a header from a tight angle, but the ball hit the crossbar, Mazoki’s follow-up shot hit the side netting.
The first half ended with Napoli leading Bologna 1-0.
