On August 24th, Manchester United forward Amad Diallo shared a heartbreaking message on social media. Amad posted a photo of himself with his mother from his childhood days, captioned with “Rest in peace, Mom. May Allah forgive you!”
Diallo had an impressive pre-season performance and was poised to become the starting right winger for Manchester United in the new season. However, just before the second round of the new league season, he was struck by the tragedy of his mother’s sudden passing.
In his younger years, Amad and his brothers settled in Parma, Italy. However, in 2020, they were investigated by authorities for illegal immigration and reached a plea agreement, paying a fine of £42,000. At that time, Amad was part of the youth training system at Atalanta in Italy. In 2021, Diallo joined Manchester United for a transfer fee of €21.3 million, making 23 appearances, scoring 3 goals, and providing 2 assists during his tenure.
Diallo had previously revealed that his mother was extremely proud of his burgeoning career.
