On the morning of August 31, Fiorentina officially announced the signing of experienced full-back Robin Gosens, who previously played for Bundesliga side Union Berlin for 12 months.
It is understood that Gosens has signed a one-season loan deal with Fiorentina, which includes an obligation to buy if certain sporting conditions are met.
Gosens had a relatively productive season at Union Berlin, scoring six goals in 30 Bundesliga matches and adding another goal in six Champions League games.
Despite being a German international with 20 caps, the 2023/24 season was Gosens’ first in the Bundesliga. He joined Union Berlin from Inter Milan for a transfer fee of 15 million euros, having initially moved to Inter Milan on loan with an obligation to buy from Atalanta.
The 30-year-old spent five seasons at Atalanta, scoring 25 goals in 121 Serie A appearances.
