Recently, Olivier Giroud gave an exclusive interview to Major League Soccer (MLS). In his words, he hinted that his national team teammate Antoine Griezmann felt a twinge of envy when he saw Giroud sign with Los Angeles FC. He believes that Griezmann will eventually play in MLS.
The French striker, Olivier Giroud, left AC Milan this summer and joined MLS side LAFC, signing a contract until the end of 2025. During his interview with MLS TV, he admitted that Griezmann is very interested in MLS.
He said, “When he saw the news about me signing with LAFC, he was a little envious. I told him not to worry, and hopefully, it won’t be long before we can meet up here.”
“I don’t know if we’ll end up playing for different teams in the future, but when I saw the news linking him to LAFC, I immediately sent him a message: I know you love America, its basketball, baseball, and soccer. Sooner or later, you’ll come here too.”
The 33-year-old Griezmann’s contract with Atlético Madrid expires in the summer of 2026. Media speculation suggests that if he cannot maintain his competitive form, he might choose to part ways with Atlético as early as next summer.
