According to PlanetF1, Haas F1 driver Bortman recently spoke about his friend Antonelli in an interview. The Brit hopes that Antonelli can join him in F1, setting an ideal goal for both of them.
Bortman said: “We’ve always kept an eye on each other and progressed at the same time. I’ve known Kimi for a long time. We raced together in some F4 events and competed many times on simulators. Now we are teammates in F2. I hope he can also join F1; it’s what he deserves. I hope one day we can compete for the world championship together because I think that is our goal.”
Additionally, the new Haas driver also discussed his parent team Ferrari. Bortman stated: “If you draw a car, it’s red. It’s synonymous with motorsport, victories, success, and great drivers. Winning the world championship with Ferrari is my dream. They have supported me since 2021. They saw my potential early on. They decided to trust me, even taking a risk by letting me drive in Jeddah. This shows their belief in me and my abilities, and of course, I hope one day to win the title, especially with Ferrari.”
