Recently, in an interview with Sky Sports, Bonucci spoke about his former club Juventus and topics such as Conte’s appointment at Napoli.
On Juventus and Chiesa’s future
“Emotionally distancing myself from Juventus is impossible. It has always been and remains a part of my football faith, and part of my career as a player. Thiago Motta has a strong squad, which will be further strengthened through new signings. He will make us enjoy the game, and I hope he can compete for the league title from start to finish. I believe he will prove his worth, possessing the qualities of a great coach.”
“I think Chiesa Jr. needs to figure out what he wants. These years have been challenging for him both physically and mentally, and now he needs to take a step forward to become a top player. Of course, I hope he stays at Juventus.”
On Conte coaching Napoli
“Buffon says Napoli will finish at least second? I fully agree. After last year’s events, Napoli couldn’t have made a better choice. They brought in a world-class coach, and their squad is strong and of high quality. If Conte can consistently lead training and preparation throughout the week, Napoli will become even stronger.”
On Morata’s transfer to AC Milan
“I told him that the Euro trophy could not have been passed on to anyone more fittingly. He has grown tremendously in character and now dares to take responsibility, becoming more confident and always able to score goals. I believe he will excel at Milan.”
On his own future
“I hope to become a coach who combines all the best qualities of the coaches I’ve had. I’ve been coached by many great ones and will learn something from each. Ultimately, it comes down to practical results.”
