On August 5th, in the women’s balance beam final at the Paris Olympics, Chinese athlete Zhou Yaqin competed.
Zhou Yaqin, who went first, scored a difficulty score of 6.6 and an execution score of 7.5, for a total of 14.1 points.
Suni Lee, who went second, and Ana Suarez, who went third, both fell from the beam, while Espósito, who went fourth, had significant wobbles. None of these three athletes scored higher than Zhou Yaqin.
Of the four athletes who competed in the second half: Sabrina fell from the beam; Damato scored 14.366 points; American star Biles fell from the beam and scored 13.1 points; and Andrade, who went last, scored 13.933 points, failing to place in the top three.
In the end, Zhou Yaqin finished in second place and won the silver medal. Italy’s Damato and Espósito took gold and bronze, respectively.
