On July 20th, following Mbappé’s official move to Real Madrid, British media outlet GiveMeSport presented a set of comparative statistics, showcasing the season data of both Mbappé and Ronaldo before they joined Real Madrid across multiple dimensions.
The media analysis indicates that most of their figures are neck and neck, but in terms of goals scored, Mbappé is notably ahead of Ronaldo. In the 2023-24 season, Mbappé netted 44 goals for Paris Saint-Germain in 48 games, whereas in the season prior to joining Real Madrid (2008-09), Ronaldo scored 26 goals for Manchester United in 53 appearances.
The media notes that while Ronaldo’s tally of 26 goals may seem low, it cannot be overlooked that, as one of the great goal scorers in world football, he led Manchester United to a UEFA Champions League title. It’s worth mentioning that in the 2007-08 season, Ronaldo scored 42 goals, making him the first player to score over 30 goals in the Premier League that season.
In the season preceding his move to Real Madrid, Ronaldo provided 12 assists, while Mbappé also reached double digits with 10 assists. Both superstars won three trophies, and in terms of individual accolades, Ronaldo had three, while Mbappé had two.
