According to David Ornstein, a well-known reporter from The Athletic, Chelsea and Napoli are currently in talks over a potential swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Victor Osimhen.
If the negotiations are successful, the transfer structures for Lukaku and Osimhen will differ. Lukaku is expected to join Napoli on a permanent basis, while Osimhen would move to Chelsea on a loan deal with an option to buy.
Last season, Lukaku played on loan for Serie A side Roma, making a total of 47 appearances across all competitions and scoring 21 goals. Should he make the move to Napoli, he will reunite with his former Inter Milan manager Conte in Serie A.
In addition, Osimhen contributed 17 goals for Napoli last season, making him the team’s top scorer.
