On July 26, ex-Premier League goalkeeper Shaka Hislop, discussing Arsenal’s title prospects, stated that if the Gunners continue to rely heavily on Jesus and Havertz, they will continue to miss out on the Premier League title.
In the 2023-24 Premier League season, Arsenal finished as runners-up with 28 wins, 5 draws, and 5 losses, accumulating 89 points and finishing just two points behind champions Manchester City. Heading into the upcoming 2024-25 season, Arsenal are also considered one of the biggest challengers to Manchester City.
Hislop, when talking about Arsenal’s title prospects, said: “It depends on Arsenal’s attacking options. If they still overly rely on Jesus and Havertz, they will continue to miss out on the Premier League title. While Havertz can sometimes deliver in key games and score goals, you can’t rely on a forward to lead the team to a Premier League title. I feel the same way about Jesus; he started well at Arsenal but his performance levels have noticeably dropped due to injury.”
