Yesterday, Shanghai Shenhua head coach Leonid Slutsky attended the pre-match press conference ahead of the away game against Cangzhou Mighty Lions, accompanied by goalkeeper Bao Yanxiong. He discussed the team’s current situation and Zhu Chenjie’s recovery progress.
Slutsky stated, “Our last FA Cup match was quite tough, as it went into extra time and a penalty shootout. Given the intense schedule at this stage, we have no time for systematic training, so under these circumstances, we must remain fully focused and demonstrate our team’s capabilities and resilience.”
When asked about Zhu Chenjie’s recovery status, Slutsky said, “It’s difficult to give a definitive answer regarding Zhu Chenjie’s situation right now. Although he has traveled with the team, he is still undergoing rehabilitation training with the physiotherapist. There are 24 hours left until the match, and we hope he can make it in time for tomorrow’s game.”
Goalkeeper Bao Yanxiong added, “Thanks to the rotation opportunity in the previous FA Cup round, some players got a chance to rest. We will certainly perform at our best under the guidance of our head coach in tomorrow’s match.”
