July 20: According to an official announcement by Miami International, a ceremony will be held before tomorrow’s Major League Soccer (MLS) regular season match, Round 21, against Chicago Fire. The ceremony is to honor captain Messi for his recent achievement of winning the 2024 Copa America title, which marks his 45th trophy and makes him the player with the most titles in football history.
On July 20, local time, Messi’s national team teammate Dybala is set to marry his girlfriend, Oriana Sabatini. The wedding has invited several Argentine national team players, with confirmations of attendance from Di Maria, Enzo Fernández, Paredes, Lo Celso, and De Paul, among others. The guest list totals over 300 people, but notably absent is the name of the Argentine national team captain, Messi.
From today’s announcement by Miami International, it can be inferred that there is a scheduling conflict between Messi attending the ceremony and Dybala’s wedding. As such, Messi will not be able to attend his national team teammate’s wedding.
