On the afternoon of August 5th, in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol final at the Paris Olympics, Chinese athlete Li Yuehong clinched gold with 32 points, while another Chinese competitor, Wang Xinjie, took bronze with 23 points.
With this, the Chinese shooting team has secured a total of five golds, two silvers, and two bronzes at these Olympic Games. The five gold medals match the historic best performance by the Chinese team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and also surpass the record for their best performance outside of China, which was set at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (four golds, one silver, six bronzes).
